The Mystery of Mary, by Paul Haffner
Father Haffner has given us a beautiful synthesis of Marian teaching. He has really compliled some of the best quotes and insights on Our Lady, giving solid teaching on both the Dogmas and doctrines of Mary. All is explained with care and specificity. This is a must read! The good outweighs any “bad” and I do think the text is beneficial for serious students, both in acedemic circles and in home study. If you’ve wondered what the Church is saying about Mary and why it is important, this book will help answer those questions.
Gracewing publishing/(2004) or the imprint of Hillenbrand publications is part of Liturgy Training Publications. I think LTP has been putting out some fantastic books as of late. The binding is excellent, the artwork professional, current, and inviting the reader into the text, and the size is just right. 285 pages.
As a side note, Father Haffner has a number of books, all worth your time, money, and effort. The Mystery of Creation, The Mystery of Reason (reading now), and a book with Christendom Press called, Creation and Scientific Creativity: A Study in the Thought of S.L. Jaki. Jaki is worth careful study too from what I’ve gathered, although I have not read his work yet.
